Q: Your Name?
A: Billy Ferris

Q: At what school do you work?
A: Auburn University

Q: What is your role?
A: Assistant Director, Student Media

Q: How long have you been in student media?
A: This is my 7th year in Student Media

Q: What are you most proud of at your current Student Media org?
A: I am most proud of the way we transitioned the Plainsman, our newspaper, into a primarily digital publication. It has turned our financial outlook around and we were able to take our students through the process in a way that gave them ownership of the decision. The way the students were the driving force of this move was incredibly rewarding to see.

Q: What is a fun fact about you, your town, your University?
A: One of my ancestors invented the Ferris Wheel.

Q: What is a media project you would most like to pick someone’s brain about?
A: I would love to pick the brain of anyone who has successfully found ways to reach their audiences in non-traditional ways with a future-focused approach.

Q: What is your favorite snack on a road trip?
A: Beef Jerky
