A: University of Oklahoma in Norman
Q: How long have you been in student media?
A: I’m wrapping up my first month as a student media adviser!
Q: What did you do before joining student media?
A: I’ve worked as a visual journalist, student affairs professional, and private sector manager. However, I graduated as an alumna of OU Student Media, and I feel privileged to return as an adviser.
Q: What are you most excited about in your new role?
A: I’m excited to mentor students and to contribute to our continuously evolving organization.
Q: What is a fun fact about you, your town, your University?
A: I served as a Youth Development Specialist in Peace Corps Guatemala for 27 months. Somehow, I was charged with creating a new in-country publication for our program during that time — it’s hard to escape those journalism roots.
Q: What is something you would most like to pick someone’s brain about?
A: Currently, I would like to explore (and exhaust) all the possibilities to monetize our digital products and capitalize on our social media presence.
Q: What is your favorite snack on a road trip?
A: A road trip is my excuse to eat ALL the terrible things you find at a gas station.
